I wanted to share the attached picture. The hunt and trip went quite well. As you predicted, the closing ceremony was quite moving. On day one Tyler saw 37 deer, and because of his condition, had great difficulty seeing through the scope. He spotted several nice bucks, but was unable to connect. During the entire trip Tyler never lost his patience, and his gun safety was better than most adult hunters.
As you can tell by the pictures, we got slammed with weather, and that little guy went out and took it all in stride, never once complained. On the last day, despite the urging by the guide and his father that there was plenty of time to shoot a buck, he chose to shoot a doe. His stated reason? He wanted to make sure his family had meat, because that is what hunting is all about!
Remind me to tell you the remarkable story of this young man, his wisdom and judgment beyond his years and so incredible given his condition.
You can see him sporting his new cowboy hat that MOGA gave to him. I can't want for you to see the video that was done for his family, we all simply sobbed for 10 minutes while it played.
Thank you and the Big Hearts under the Big Sky program for the gift of letting us experience this young man and his family, the lives of my family and staff has been changed forever.
