HELENA, MT: Executive Director of Montana Outfitters and Guides Association (MOGA), Mac Minard announced today that the organization has launched a new website www.bigheartsmt.org dedicated to the Big Hearts under the Big Sky program. According to Minard the MOGA Board of the Educational Institute (EI), the non-profit arm of MOGA, wanted a site dedicated to the growing and very popular program.
“This is a terrific new site full of great material” said Rob Arnaud, chairman of the Educational Institute. “We hope that people will take some time and visit the site and enjoy the stories and photo galleries and gain an appreciation of the Big Hearts under the Big Sky program.”
Under this program MOGA member outfitters provide high-quality outdoor trips, at no charge, to those who have provided extraordinary military service to our country and those who face the challenges of a life-threatening illness.
MOGA has built working relationships with 1) Hunt of a Lifetime, a national program headquartered in Pennsylvania to grant hunting opportunities for youths who face life threatening illness; 2) Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA), whose mission is to raise awareness and further assist disabled veterans with their healing process through guided hunts and shooting competitions; 3) Catch a Dream, another nationally recognized program whose focus is to provide children with life-threatening illnesses the chance of a lifetime to experience an outdoor adventure; and 4), Casting for Recovery, an organization of breast cancer patients and survivors who use the sport of fly-fishing to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Each affiliate channels qualified persons who desire an outfitted trip of a lifetime. MOGA works to match their needs with the right outfitters and guides to fulfill their dreams.
According to Larry McGovern, vice-chair of the Educational Institute “The combination of willing Outfitters who offer high quality opportunities and the Association’s ability to cover some of the direct costs for this program is unbeatable. The result is a consistent supply of outstanding trip opportunities for use by our charitable partners”. McGovern went on to say “This is a program every Montanan will be proud to be part of”.
